According to Fibre2Fashion’s market insight tool TexPro, China exported dresses worth $173.599 million in the first seven months of the current year, representing 14.41 per cent of the total apparel exports. T-shirts ranked third in China’s apparel exports, with shipments valued at $124.258 million, comprising 10.32 per cent of the total. Exports of ensembles amounted to $91.981 million (7.63 per cent), while accessories were valued at $79.782 million (6.62 per cent).
Additionally, China exported home textiles worth $288.480 million to Saudi Arabia in the same period. Bed textiles made up 30.29 per cent of these exports, valued at $87.369 million. Floor textiles accounted for $78.928 million (27.36 per cent), made-ups $35.161 million (12.19 per cent), bathroom and kitchen textiles $24.848 million (8.61 per cent), and window textiles $20.142 million (6.98 per cent), according to TexPro.
In the textiles segment, China exported $504.327 million worth of fabric, which accounted for 94.46 per cent of the segment. Yarn exports were valued at $21.970 million (4.12 per cent), while fibre exports stood at $7.584 million (1.42 per cent) in the first seven months of 2024.
In 2023, China exported $2,518.613 million worth of apparel to Saudi Arabia. The value of home textile exports stood at $588.360 million, while textile exports amounted to $874.146 million.
