China's apparel exports to Singapore have registered a constant increase in the last three years. The upward trend in trade remained intact last year as well. Exports registered a growth of 76.41 per cent in 2022, rising from $1.391 billion in 2021 to $2.454 billion in 2022, according to Fibre2Fashion's market insight tool TexPro.
The data shows that exports defied the COVID impact during 2020, jumping to $1.037 billion from $690.146 million in 2019. However, trade remained weak during 2018 and 2019, easing to $730.031 million in 2018 and $690.146 million in 2019 from the shipment of $996.208 million in 2017.
Singapore’s share in China’s total apparel exports of $166.146 billion in 2022 was just 1.48 per cent. However, China was the largest apparel supplier for Singapore, as per TexPro.
