Last week, Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi held talks with Denmark's minister for foreign affairs, Lars Lokke Rasmussen, in Beijing.
Danish apparel imports from China amounted to $423.580 million, which constituted 22.09 per cent of Denmark's total imports of $1,917.279 million from January to May 2023. These imports marked an 18.50 per cent decrease from $519.714 million during the same period in 2022, according to Fibre2Fashion’s market insight tool TexPro.
Trade declined 12.23 per cent to $344.317 million in January-May 2020, compared to $392.298 million during the same period in the preceding year. However, it rose by 22.92 per cent to $423.224 million in January-May 2021 and increased 22.80 per cent to $519.714 million in January-May 2022.
Throughout 2022, shipments from China were valued at $1,410.973 million, accounting for 24 per cent of Denmark's total imports worth $5,878.802 million. This was a 16.12 per cent increase from the $1,215.140 million recorded in 2021. Earlier figures stood at $1,092.590 million in 2020 and $1,073.513 million in 2019, as reported by TexPro.
