Bangladesh's cotton apparel exports during this period were valued at $1,429.699 million, constituting 75.51 per cent of its total apparel exports of $1,893.419 million to Spain. Other fibre-based apparel exports were valued at $172.047 million, and wool/animal hair apparel at $1.135 million. The export of silk apparel was negligible, according to Fibre2Fashion's market insight tool TexPro.
In terms of product types, trousers and shorts and T-shirts contributed 58 per cent to the total shipments from Bangladesh to Spain during this period. Trousers and shorts were valued at $645.894 million, accounting for 34.11 per cent of the total, while T-shirts amounted to $452.625 million (23.91 per cent). Among the top five products, shirts constituted $204.170 million (10.78 per cent), dresses $81.079 million (4.28 per cent), and baby wear $53.135 million (2.81 per cent).
According to TexPro, unisex garments dominated Bangladesh’s apparel exports to Spain during the first seven months of 2023, with shipments totalling $729.172 million (38.51 per cent). Women's garments were valued at $617.590 million (32.62 per cent), men's at $429.522 million (26.07 per cent), and baby wear at $53.135 million (2.81 per cent).
