Egyptian apparel exports to Saudi Arabia have seen healthy growth in recent years. More specifically, after a steady trend during the COVID years, the outbound shipments have experienced a significant increase since 2021. Egypt's apparel shipments to the partner country increased to $97.535 million during January-October 2023. The trade was recorded at $55.817 million in 2022.

According to Fibre2Fashion’s market insight tool TexPro, Saudi Arabia remained a small trading partner for apparel exports from Egypt despite the recent rise in trade. During the first three quarters of 2023, the shipment to Saudi Arabia accounted for just 4 per cent of the total apparel exports from Egypt, which totalled $1,952.544 million. Saudi Arabia was ranked sixth in the largest apparel markets for the country.

The United States, Turkiye, and the United Arab Emirates were the top three markets for Egyptian apparel shipments in January-October 2023, contributing approximately 58 per cent to its total apparel shipments.

Egypt exported apparel to the partner nation worth $28.282 million in 2019. This slightly decreased to $28.230 million in 2020. After the pandemic, the shipments jumped to $46.666 million in 2021 and further increased to $55.817 million the following year, as per TexPro.

Saudi Arabia was the third-largest market for home textile exports from Egypt in January-October 2023, when its shipments to the African country were recorded at $40.421 million. These shipments constituted 8.77 per cent of Egypt’s total home textile exports of $460.973 million. The United States and Germany were the first and second largest markets for the trade, with a combined share of over 30 per cent.
