Tunisia exported apparel worth $407.720 million to France, representing 28.37 per cent of total exports. France was followed by Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, and Switzerland in the list of the largest five markets. Apparel exports to Italy were valued at $293.093 million (20.30 per cent), Germany at $241.544 million (16.80 per cent), the Netherlands at $74.098 million (5.16 per cent), and Switzerland at $68.199 million (4.74 per cent), according to Fibre2Fashion’s market insight tool TexPro.
In the previous year, Tunisia's apparel export totalled $3,058.685 million. France remained at the top, with shipments valued at $878.413 million, making up 28.72 per cent of the total. The exports to Italy were worth $632.733 million (20.69 per cent), Germany $467.757 million (15.29 per cent), the Netherlands $159.532 million (5.22 per cent), and Switzerland $148.409 million (4.84 per cent). Belgium, the United States, Spain, China, and South Korea were among the next top five markets for Tunisia last year.
According to TexPro, Tunisia's fabric exports were confined to $18.921 million in January-May 2023. France, Italy, Turkiye, Spain, and Germany were the top five markets, where Tunisia exported approximately 90 per cent of its fabric during this period.
