Global trade of jersey slowly rising

The global export of jerseys has increased 11.64 per cent to $53,557.99 million in the year 2019 compared to $47,975.51 million in 2017. Total exports surged 2.87 per cent in 2019 over the previous year, according to data from TexPro. Further, the export is expected to decrease to $52,968.42 million in 2022 with a rate of 1.10 per cent from 2019.
 
The global import value of jerseys was $51,092.79 million in 2017, which surged 8.58 per cent to $55,479.01 million in 2019, according to Fibre2Fashion's market analysis tool TexPro. Total imports rose marginally 0.24 per cent in 2019 over the previous year and is expected to increase to $56,565.96 million in 2022 with a rate of 1.96 per cent from 2019.
 
China ($18,976.06 million), Vietnam ($4,488.85 million), Italy ($3,412.24 million) and Hong Kong ($2,817.26 million) were the key exporters of jerseys across the globe in 2019, together comprising 55.44 per cent of total export. These were followed by Germany ($2,638.56 million), Cambodia ($2,132.10 million) and Turkey ($1,990.03 million).
 
From 2016 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of export value, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Vietnam (50.85 per cent) and Italy (40.48 per cent).
 
US ($15,010.57 million), Germany ($4,640.03 million), Japan ($4,614.56 million), France ($3,202.48 million) and UK ($2,849.08 million) were the key importers of jerseys in the globe in 2019, together comprising 54.65 per cent of total import. These were followed by Italy ($2,434.53 million), Spain ($2,242.08 million) and Netherlands ($2,220.31 million).
 
From 2016 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of import value, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by France (13.90 per cent), Germany (10.73 per cent) and UK (7.01 per cent).
