Ireland imported 4.65 per cent of its apparel from Vietnam in 2023, as it was the sixth-largest apparel supplier for the country. Ireland’s apparel imports from Vietnam were valued at $117.090 million, while its inbound shipment of the product totalled $2,519.263 billion in the previous year.

According to Fibre2Fashion's market insight tool TexPro, Ireland had imported apparel from Vietnam worth $118.734 million in 2022. It is notable that the imports decreased by 10.34 per cent to $71.248 million in 2020. After that, they jumped by 53.39 per cent to $109.288 million in 2021, and further increased by 8.64 per cent to $118.734 million in 2022. Before COVID, the inbound shipment was noted at $79.469 million in 2019 and $64.082 million in 2018.

However, Ireland’s imports of home textiles were limited to $5.062 million in 2023, which was 1.61 per cent of its total home textiles, valued at $315.210 million in the same period. The imports of home textiles by Ireland from Vietnam increased by 7.36 per cent in 2023 over the imports of $4.715 million in 2022. Its imports continued to rise until 2021 but slumped in 2022 and then recovered in 2023.Vietnam was also the second-largest supplier of leather apparel and accessories to the country. In 2023, Ireland imported products worth $50.384 million from the partner country, which was 17.54 per cent of its total exports of leather apparel and accessories, amounting to $287.200 million, as per TexPro.
