Cambodia’s share was 4.82 per cent of Japan’s total apparel imports, which amounted to $24.953 billion in 2022. Previously, imports from Cambodia were noted at $1.105 billion in 2021, $1.043 billion in 2020, $1.147 billion in 2019, $1.065 billion in 2018, and $842.179 million in 2017, according to Fibre2Fashion's market insight tool TexPro.
However, Cambodia’s share was just 0.45 per cent of Japan’s home textile imports, which amounted to $4.294 billion in 2023. The inbound shipment was valued at $19.403 million in the same period. Home textile imports from Cambodia were 11.98 per cent higher than the imports of $17.327 million in 2022.
On the other hand, Japan was the second-largest market for Cambodia’s apparel exports. The outbound shipment accounted for 10.64 per cent of Cambodia’s total exports, which amounted to $10.566 billion during the last year. Japan’s share was 9.93 per cent of the total apparel exports of $12.914 billion from Cambodia, as per TexPro.
