Jordan's exports to the United States reached 2.044 billion Jordanian Dinars ($2.881 billion) during January–November 2024, marking a 14.9 per cent increase compared to exports of 1.779 billion Jordanian Dinars ($2.507 billion) in the same period last year. Garments were the most important product in the export basket. Jordan’s garment exports to the partner nation also rose by 13.51 per cent during the same period.

According to Fibre2Fashion's market insight tool TexPro, the Gulf nation’s apparel exports to the US were valued at $1,741.083 million in the first 11 months of 2024. This was 13.51 per cent higher than the shipment of $1,533.874 million in the same period of the previous year.

The US accounted for 79.56 per cent of the total garment exports from Jordan, which stood at $2,188.282 million in January-November 2024. The US’ share also increased from 77.17 per cent in the same period of 2023.

Jordan is highly dependent on the partner nation for garment exports. Both countries share strong economic and diplomatic relations. Geopolitical compulsions have also made them closer allies.

Jordan’s garment exports to the nation have experienced fluctuations in previous years. The shipment dropped by 14.26 per cent to $1,527.979 million in 2020, from $1,782.176 million in 2019. However, it recovered, increasing by 9.55 per cent to $1,673.875 million in 2021. Exports further rose by 15.57 per cent to $1,934.456 million in 2022. However, bilateral trade eased by 14.21 per cent, declining to $1,659.623 million in 2023, as per TexPro.
