Data from Fibre2Fashion’s market insight tool, TexPro, showed that non-knitted or crocheted apparel imports by South Korea amounted to $26.740 million, representing 29.65 per cent of its total apparel imports for the same period.
From January to May 2023, South Korea’s cotton apparel imports were valued at $45.864 million, comprising 52.36 per cent of the total garment imports. According to TexPro, man-made fibre apparel imports totalled $26.783 million, making up 30.58 per cent of the imports, while wool/animal hair imports were a mere $0.261 million, or 0.30 per cent. Other types of apparel constituted 16.76 per cent of South Korea’s total apparel imports from Cambodia.
Breaking it down further, trousers and shorts imports were valued at $24.563 million, which is 28.04 per cent of the total. T-shirt imports reached $20.366 million (23.55 per cent), jerseys $14.170 million (16.18 per cent), shirts $7.206 million (8.23 per cent), and innerwear $6.258 million (7.15 per cent).
