Mexican delegation to visit Bangladesh to source more RMG

Coppel’s imports from Bangladesh have gone up from $5 million to $20 million in the last few years.

During a recent discussion with Abida Islam, Bangladesh ambassador to Mexico, Coppel had shown interest in purchasing RMG, home textiles, undergarments and jute goods among other products from Bangladesh. The retailer is also interested in meeting with manufacturers and suppliers of these products, said Bangladeshi media reports quoting a letter written by Islam to Tapan Kanti Ghosh, senior secretary of Bangladesh’s commerce ministry.

Coppel operates over 1,600 department stores in 700 cities in Mexico.
