The imports from China were valued at $1,295.545 million during this period. However, imports reduced by 11.43 per cent from the inbound shipment of $1,459.368 million in January-May 2022. Comparatively, the figures for the same period in 2019, 2020, and 2021 were $1,332.724 million, $849.736 million, and $1,070.865 million, respectively, according to Fibre2Fashion’s market insight tool TexPro.
Netherlands’ apparel imports from Germany were $1,017.318 million (15.31 per cent), Bangladesh $765.624 million (11.52 per cent), Turkiye $594.320 million (8.94 per cent), and Vietnam $295.315 million (4.44 per cent). The next top five countries were India $286.482 million (4.31 per cent), Belgium $277.870 million (4.18 per cent), Poland $240.108 million (3.61 per cent), Italy $215.778 million (3.25 per cent), and Pakistan $157.491 million (2.37 per cent).
As per TexPro, Netherlands’ total apparel imports dipped to $6,644.641 million in January-May 2023 from $7,891.648 million in the corresponding period of the previous year. Annually, the imports were recorded at $20.232 billion in 2022, $16.365 billion in 2021, $13.515 billion in 2020, and $17.794 billion in 2019.
