Chinese knitted apparel exports surge

China's total exports of knitted apparel to the world registered US $17.41 billion from January to April 2011, an increase of 24.57 percent over the same period of the previous year.

The growth rate was 2.48 percentage points lower than the rate of 27.05 percent posted by overall textile and clothing exports. Average price touched $ 2.91 / piece in the period.

April exports reached US $5.20 billion and unit price reached US $3.07 / piece, 16 cents higher than average price of January to April.
