Vietnam apparel makers face problems in finding markets

Garment manufacturers in Vietnam are facing problems in finding newer markets for their products in the midst of declining orders from the country’s traditional markets of the EU and the US.

According to experts, several businesses are short of production orders for the second half of the current year and they are finding it difficult to expand into newer markets due to low investment in trade promotion programmes.

This year, only one trade promotion programme has been held so far, according to Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS).

The association suggested that the Government should organize more export promotion programmes to help the country’s garment business to expand into other countries.
