German buyers find excessive azo dyes in Chinese clothing

Buyers in Germany have found azo dyes beyond the permissible quantities in clothing procured from China and have recently returned a batch of such apparels.

According to reports, over 5,300 polyester/cotton knitted men’s T-shirts were returned by German buyers to a knitwear enterprise in Shaoxing province of China.

The value of returned goods is estimated to be more than US$ 54,000 and the Chinese firm would have to bear the loss as the returned goods have lost value, owing to special nature of German clothing styles.

Moreover, the Shaoxing firm may also have to pay damages for breach of faith.
