Discussion on the Vietnam-Japan bilateral trade pact is expected to begin, mid-February.
The first round will stress on industry, services and agriculture.
Agreement will aid the export of Vietnamese goods to Japan and vice versa.
Two-way trade between the two countries totaled US $8.16 billion in 2005, with Vietnam's exports to Japan, mainly garment and textile, shrimp and woodwork, reaching $4.5 billion.
