Visas for garment & textile export quotas to US stopped temporarily

All regional export-import regulating departments throughout Vietnam have officially stopped issuance of auto visa for textiles and garment exporting enterprises to US since February 15, 2006, sources from Trade Ministry stated.
Those textiles under categories 359-s/659-s are affected due to this temporary stoppage of auto visa.
However, Bill of Lading issued prior to February 15 by the respective departments will get issuance till by February 22, sources added.
Till February 7, 2006, the granted visa for categories 359-s/659-s account for over 20 percent of total textile and garment export quotas of 2006, Ministry officials indicated.
