Spanish knitwear exports rise 3% in Jan-Feb'13

The exports of knitwear from Spain have risen by three percent year-on-year to €501.27 million in the first two months of the current year, according to the data released by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness.
 
Catalan province accounted for 34.9 percent of Spanish knitwear exports, valued at €197.29 million, during the first two months of 2013.
 
With knitwear exports worth €162.03 million, Galicia stood second, while Aragon, Madrid and Andalucia accounted for knitwear exports worth €53.04 million, €45.05 million and €21.45 million, respectively.
 
France was the top destination for Spanish knitwear exports during the two-month period, followed by Italy, Portugal, Germany, Belgium and Mexico.
 
Spain’s imports of knitted apparels, however, declined by 1.5 percent year-on-year to €783.58 million, during January-February 2013.
