Vietnamese garments putting stiff competition to Chinese in US markets

This is picture in contrast! Comparing garment export performance to the US of China with Vietnam in March 2006, latter's show turned out to be impressive in turnover terms against slight slump in same goods of China, informs Ministry of Trade, Vietnam.
March witnessed highest increase in the rate of Chinese socks (category No. 342/442/642) at 15 percent, whereas highest rate of Vietnamese goods occurred at swimwear (categories No. 359/659-S), up by 54 percent.
Almost all other Vietnamese goods displayed higher growth rate than Chinese ones, for example: Chinese categories No. 349/649 (women's undershirt), No.363 (towel) and No. 443 (woolen overcoat) all rose by 10 percent; Vietnamese Categories No. 338/339 (knitted wear) and No. 347/348 (cotton trousers) were up 20 percent.
