Peruvian kidswear makers to explore Canadian market

Peruvian garment manufacturers, specializing in production of kidswear and baby clothing, will visit Canada in September this year to find strategic partners, Ysabel Segura, production manager at Peruvian Exporters Association (ADEX) has said.
 
Ms. Segura said kidswear and baby clothing from Peruvian pima cotton have good demand in the Canadian market due to their design and quality, andina reported.
 
Although Peru’s total exports to Canada declined by 20 percent year-on-year to US$ 1.14 billion during January to May this year, garment exports showed positive growth.
 
Peruvian clothing exports to Canada increased by 34 percent year-on-year in 2012. From January to May 2013, apparel exports from Peru grew by 22.9 percent year-on-year.
 
Besides kidswear and baby clothing, cotton t-shirts and shirts, garments made from synthetic fibres, trousers, and shawls are among the Peruvian clothing items that are exported to Canada.
 
The Peruvian business delegation will visit Toronto and Montreal from September 23 to 27, 2013.
