Vietnam's footwear sector spent $14.97 million in February on import of shoe making fabric canvas, recording a rise of 76.4 percent compared to same period in 2005, a General Custom report said.
Import turnover of shoe making fabrics during first two months of 2006 registered a year-on-year increase of 37.3 percent, earning $31.4 million.
February imports saw a marginal price rise in shoe making fabric canvas compared to import price of January.
Shoe making fabric prices are anticipated to rise further in near future on back of increase in world prices, industry sources say.
