Childrens wear export revenue soars 88.7% in Q1

Vietnam's childrens wear export in first quarter of 2006 brought in revenue of $32.5 million, registering an increase of 88.7 percent in value and 52.8 percent in volume terms, compared to similar period previous year, General Customs informed.

Childrenwear export for March this year witnessed an average rise of $1 per suit over same period, last year.

Major importing countries are US, Japan and EU with total imports turnover of 5.29 million suits worth $24 million; 585,000 ones worth $2.2 million and 453,000 ones for $2.4 million, respectively.

Export price gain for the US was $1.3 per suit in this period, compared with first quarter of 2005.
