Apparel exports to US see first ever growth in Jan-Aug

In January-August 2006, China's apparel and accessories exported to the US earned $9.08 billion, rising 1.3 percent from the corresponding period of last year, registering growth for the first time this year, according to China's Customs.

Export to EU registered at $10.72 billion, up 9.6 percent, representing that EU was still the biggest market to China's apparel and accessories industry.

China's apparel export to Japan, the second biggest market amounted to $9.74 billion, increasing 6.9 percent against the same period of prior year.
