Govt strives to solve RMG sector problem

Export of ready made garment industry in the Bangladesh is facing huge problems due to political disagreement.

In order to asses the reasons of this problem, the Government has formed a high level monitoring committee.

The committee includes one member of National Board of Revenue (NBR), Additional Secretary of Finance Ministry, Joint Secretary of Shipping Ministry, one Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor and Presidents of BGMEA (Bangladesh Garment manufacturers and Exporters Association) and BKMEA (Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association).

The basic problem is the incapability to pay the wages of workers by a specific date and RMG raw materials, remained stranded in jetties of Chittagong port and outer anchorage.

With the materialization of this step, the creativity of the local entrepreneurs will remain intact and they would be able to recover their losses.
