During April to November 2006, exports of gem and jewellery stood at US $11.13 billion, a decline of 1.01 percent compared to previous year. The fall in export was effect of decrease in cut and polished diamond segment to 14.93 percent.
Cut and polished diamond exports accounted 80 percent of total India's gem and jewellery export.
