South American countries like Brazil and Argentina have increased import tariff on clothing in order to check import of Chinese products.

Recently, Brazil Government has announced to levy higher import tariff from 20 percent to 35 percent on clothing and shoes; the revised taxes will formally be implemented by the end of this month.

Wenzhou city located in Zhejiang province is one of the main exporters of clothing and shoes to these countries. City Clothing Chamber expressed concerns for local manufacturers but this will also encourage clothing enterprises to seek new overseas market.
