Clothing exports reach $25m in 1st four months

During the first months of current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2005), Iran has registered clothing exports of $25 million.

According to data presented by Customs Administration, Iran had exported $11.325 million and $7.23 million worth of various clothing goods to Azerbaijan and Afghanistan respectively during the same period.

The Kazakhstan, the United Arab Emirates and Kyrgyzstan imported $2.541 million, $1.843 million and $1.819 million respectively, of clothing from Iran in the same period.

The total value of Iran's export of textile and clothing products touched at $56 million during the four months, depicting a 15 percent decrease compared to the similar period the previous year.

Meanwhile, Iran exported $10.682 million of hand-woven carpets which indicated a 37 percent increase compared to the corresponding period last year.
