During January to July this year, China's total imports and exports of textiles and clothing increased 18.13 percent against last year, accounting for 8.88 percent of the gross value of national imports and exports.
Latest Chinese customs statistics show that the total value of China's textile and garment exports gained 19.5 percent over the same time last year, accounting for 14.25 percent of the country's total export value.
Among major export market of the country, the US stood first while Hong Kong and Japan ranked second and third respectively. Exports to the United States, Hong Kong and Japan in July together accounted for 38.23 percent of the total national textile and garments export value.
Reports reveal that during this month, products exported to the EU and the United States increased by 13.19 percent from the same time last year in terms of export value, accounting for 32.6 percent of the country's total textile and garment export value.
Exports value in July to other countries grew by 22.69 percent over the same time last year, accounting for 67.3 percent of the national total textile and garments export value.
Japan, Taiwan and Korea were the country's top three import markets for textile and apparel during January to July. Import value from Japan increased by 0.21 percent. For Taiwan and Korea, a decline of 1.5 and 1.16 percent respectively can be seen compared to last year.
