During the first seven months of 2007, Vietnam exported US $21.27 million worth of textile and apparel products to Turkey, posting year-on-year rise of 491.84 percent.

According to local industrial experts, such figures show that the turnover is still low and much lower than potential in exporting to this market, but this is opening more opportunities for Vietnamese exporters in coming time.

Since 11 January 2007, Turkey abolished quota mechanism on textile and apparel products imported from Vietnam, paving favorable situation for Vietnamese partners to ship their products to the market.

From January to July this year, Vietnam earned $4.25 billion, up 28 percent over same period 2006.
