Kids wear exports grow

In the first eight months of this year, Vietnam's textile and apparel industry earned US $179.3 million exports turnover from children's wear, posting year-on-year increase of 10 percent in value and 85 percent in volume.

Among all clients of this product, US remains the biggest one with $139.7 million, represented 130 percent rising from same period last year, accounting for 78 percent of total exports turnover of the product.

In August, while there was slow trend in most other markets, the US market still kept high growth with 7.1 million pieces valued at $23.7 million, a twice higher than same period 2006 in both volume and value.

Exports to EU touched 5.6 million pieces at $15.8 million in January-August period, while that to UK was worth $3.4 million and France for $3.4 million too.

By August number of local enterprises exporting the products reached 430.
