The Ministry of Industry and Trade has released a statistical report which shows that exports of textile and apparel to Russia in the first ten months 2007, was up by 22 percent, generating revenue of US $59 million over same period 2006.
Experts consider this figure as a remarkable achievement from such traditional market.
Of the total products exported to Russia, the country shipped around one million pieces of jackets, during this period, worth $25.7 million, which show a boost of 19 and 82 percent respectively, accounting for 44 percent of total exports turnover.
The average price for jacket in this market has seen a sharp growth at 46 percent year–on–year, quoted at $25.32 each piece.
Overcoat stood second at the list export products, with 5,12,000 pieces for $12 million, up by 34 and 86 percent, respectively. The price for this was quoted at $23.46 each unit, showing a boost of 38 percent in comparison with same period last year. In the meanwhile, average rates for trouser saw slight hike, touching $8.12 per piece.
