In the period from January to September, export of sportswear to EU increased 22.3 percent in quantity and 31.4 percent in value on year. Vietnam exported 9 million sportswear worth US $52.2 million, making up 56.7 percent of the total export value of this product to various other destinations.
Statistics released by General Custom Department, shows that Vietnam earned $8 million from exporting 1.13 million products of sportswear in the month of September, down 3.8 and 17 percent, in terms of value and volume compared to September last year.
In total, the country exported 15.8 million sportswear for $92.1 million, depicting a surge of 24.2 percent in quantity and 24.5 percent in value year-on-year.
It is noteworthy that export increased strongly in markets like Holland, England, Spain, Taiwan, China and Brazil.
