Apparel export augments in October

Vietnamese General Customs Department has recently released a statistical report showing details of exports value of textile and garment products during the period from January to October of the ongoing year.

In the month of October, the export value of textile and garment products reached US $753 million, depicting a fall of 9.4 percent over September but surging by 12.6 percent year-on-year. In the 10 month period, Vietnam earned $7.59 billion from exporting textile and garment products; up 19.59 percent on year.

During these 10 months period, elastic shirts, coat, cloth, baby clothes, underwear experienced high growth rate on year, however the mosquito net, cotton towel and sweater made a negative growth in export.

Elastic shirt led in export value with $1.7 billion, up 37.5 percent on year. Trousers came second with $1.2 billion, up 10.4 percent.
