Export and import data released by General Administration of Customs reveals some very interesting facts. The fall in growth rate of exports from labour intensive sectors has not been so drastic as from overall basket of shipments.
The overall export basket of goods witnessed a negative growth rate of 21.8 percent, but at the same time shipments from labour intensive sectors like clothing and accessories dipped by only 8.5 percent.
Footwear exports also fell by 4.3 percent to US $12.91 billion, down 4.3 percent while luggage shipments touched $5.89 billion, down 7 percent.
