Recently, it was reported in media that, the US textile industry and workers associations were mulling to put pressure on the Obama administration to initiate safeguard investigation measures against Chinese textile exports.

This encouragement has come from anti-dumping safeguard measures initiated by the US administration on import of tires from China.

According to reports, the US textile industry is planning to initiate safeguard investigations on imports of men's cotton woven shirts, cotton trousers, cotton knit shirts exported from China and other countries.

These organisations have still not been able to collate the relevant data to start the proceedings against these countries.
