Clothing imports from China post positive growth

In December 2009, textile and apparel imports of the United States from China did not drastically increase to replenish stocks in time for Christmas and New Year Festival sales. Some products only showed a small increase in imports.

In 2009, the United States imported US $31.75 billion of textiles and apparel from China, down 2.81 percent year on year. Looking at the overall situation of imports, clothing products performed better than non-apparel products.

In 2009, apparel imports of the United States from China touched $23.503 billion, an increase of 2.53 percent year on year, while those of textiles touched $8.257 billion, down 15.37 percent year on year.
