According to Fibre2Fashion's market insight tool TexPro, Turkiye’s shipment of apparel to Uzbekistan was valued at $42.218 million, to China at $26.748 million, to Tajikistan at $22.320 million, to Iran at $9.276 million, to India at $5.498 million, and to Pakistan at $0.464 million between January and April 2024.
Interestingly, shipments to these SCO member countries showed an upward trend last year compared to the trade in 2022. Exports from Turkiye to Russia increased to $623.461 million in 2023, compared to shipments of $337.092 million in 2022. Shipments to Kazakhstan were noted at $390.191 million in 2023, up from $244.310 million in 2022. Additionally, Turkiye’s apparel exports to Kyrgyzstan increased to $262.587 million in 2023 from $162.343 million.
Exports to Uzbekistan were valued at $33.274 million, to China at $64.941 million, to Tajikistan at $50.852 million, to Iran at $16.132 million, to India at $16.194 million, and to Pakistan at $1.502 million in 2023. In comparison, trade with Uzbekistan was $22.665 million, with China $61.815 million, with Tajikistan $42.494 million, and with Iran $12.992 million in 2022, according to TexPro.
However, trade with India was noted at $22.640 million and with Pakistan at $5.265 million in 2022. Therefore, the trend in trade was opposite in 2023 compared to the previous year’s shipments to these two countries. It is also notable that exports to Uzbekistan reached $42.218 million between January and April 2024, which was higher than the shipments of $33.274 million for the entire year of 2023.
Turkiye’s apparel exports to SCO nations are negligible in comparison to its total shipments to the world. It exported apparel worth $7.232 billion in the first four months of 2024. Exports were recorded at $18.312 billion in 2023 and $19.446 billion in 2022.
