Cotton garment imports from Cambodia amounted to $250.989 million during the same period last year, representing 31.60 per cent of total garment imports. The import value of wool/animal hair garments was $18.430 million (2.32 per cent), while silk garments were valued at $17,805 during the period. Imports of other types of materials stood at $124.393 million, making up 15.66 per cent of total imports, according to Fibre2Fashion's market insight tool TexPro.
Trade data provided deeper insight into the UK's garment imports from Cambodia. Trousers and shorts imports amounted to $240.040 million, accounting for 30.22 per cent of total garment imports during the first ten months of 2024. The import value of jerseys was $200.759 million (25.27 per cent), T-shirts $67.905 million (8.55 per cent), shirts $46.677 million (5.88 per cent), and coats $36.281 million (4.57 per cent).
Unisex garments dominated the UK's imports from Cambodia, making up 41.16 per cent of total imports. The import value of unisex garments was $327.008 million. Women's garment imports stood at $298.184 million (37.54 per cent), while men's garment imports were valued at $161.528 million (20.33 per cent) during January–October 2024. The share of baby garment imports was 0.97 per cent, amounting to $7.670 million during the period, as per TexPro.
The import value of knitted garments was recorded at $598.710 million (75.35 per cent), while woven garments accounted for $195.782 million (24.65 per cent) during the same period.
The UK's apparel imports from the partner nation increased by 0.94 per cent in January–October 2024 compared to imports worth $787.120 million in the corresponding period of 2023. The total inbound shipments stood at $939.500 million in 2023.
