Women's garments dominate Chinese exports to Saudi Arabia

Women's garments dominate Chinese exports to Saudi Arabia

The share of women's garments was around 47.34 per cent of Chinese garment exports to Saudi Arabia during January-April 2024. Chinese garment exports to the partner country totalled $769.005 million during this period. Out of the shipment, the value of women's garments was $364.019 million. The analysis of garment exports by gender showed that exports of garments for men from China were significantly lower than those for women.

According to Fibre2Fashion's market insight tool TexPro, the shipment of garments for men was valued at $205.838 million, which was 26.77 per cent of Chinese total garment exports to Saudi Arabia in the first four months of the current year. The country exported unisex garments worth $189.583 million, accounting for 24.65 per cent of the total. Garment exports for babies were noted at $9.565 million (1.24 per cent) in the same period.

Chinese total garment exports to Saudi Arabia were $894.985 million during the same period in 2023. Therefore, trade declined by around 14 per cent this year. During January-April 2023, the share of women's garments was 49.60 per cent, unisex garments 25.49 per cent, men's garments 24.19 per cent, and baby garments 0.72 per cent of the total exports to Saudi Arabia.

The shipment was recorded at $2,518.613 million during the whole of 2023. Chinese exports of women's garments were valued at $1,124.703 million, making up 44.66 per cent of the total. The shipment of unisex garments was $693.632 million (27.54 per cent), men's garments $672.329 million (26.69 per cent), and baby garments $27.949 million (1.11 per cent) during this period, as per TexPro.
