From January to September 2023, Spain's apparel imports from Turkiye amounted to $1,712.683 million. During this period, women's garments formed the largest portion, representing 49.49 per cent of the total, with an import value of $847.607 million. Unisex garments followed, comprising 33.48 per cent of the overall imports at a value of $573.398 million, while men's garments contributed 15.04 per cent to the total, with imports valued at $257.556 million.
This data, sourced from Fibre2Fashion’s market insight tool TexPro, underscores the dominance of women's and unisex garments in the Spanish market, together accounting for over 83 per cent of the total apparel imports from Turkiye.
The inbound shipment of baby garments from Turkiye was $34.120 million in the period, representing 1.99 per cent of the total.
Moreover, Spain’s cotton garment imports from Turkiye totalled $887.223 million in January-September 2023, comprising 51.80 per cent of the total imports. The import of man-made garments was $677.597 million, amounting to 39.56 per cent of the total. The inbound shipment of wool-animal hair garments was $10.08 million (0.59 per cent) and silk garments was $0.088 million (0.01 per cent), as per TexPro.
Spain’s woven garment imports accounted for 51.78 per cent, while knitted garments comprised 48.22 per cent of the total imports during the period of January-September 2023.
