KVR Murthy is new CMD of Jute Corporation of India

His appointment is for a period of five years or till the date of his superannuation, whichever is earlier, a statement said.

Established in 1971, Kolkata based Jute Corporation of India is a Government of India agency that assists jute cultivators in states where this crop is grown, providing minimum price support. In recent years JCI is engaged in promoting alternate jute retting technologies viz. jute decorticator, enzyme based retting. (RKS)
