Union Cabinet approves National Jute Board Bill, 2006

The Union Cabinet gave its endorsement for introduction of the National Jute Board Bill, 2006 in the Parliament.

The Bill will help in the restructuring and coordinating the operations of the large number of organizations functioning in the jute sector.

CCEA has already approved the National Jute Policy in March, 2005.

The creation of a National Jute Board at Kolkata, is a major organizational initiative of the National Jute Policy, and it will be the agency to coordinate and implement the programmes of the jute sector.
