Establishment of National Jute Board (NJB), National Institute of Jute Fibre, Jute Technology Mission and Jute Museum could help develop the industry, suggested Standing Committee on labour.
Committee is emphasizing speedy steps for launching Jute Technology Mission.
NJB will consider all aspects of the problems affecting the sector and try to coordinate with various organizations.
Though being the largest producer of jute in the world, India's jute products exports amount to only Rs1,200 crore.
Committee also informed that Jute Mission would be launched soon to modernize the sector.
