Ten out of fifty nine jute mills have shut down either due to financial reasons or for incompetence of the owners, informed the Labour Minister of West Bengal, Mrinal Banerjee in the assembly.
He put the entire blame for this debacle on Centre's jute policies in general and modernization and disinvestment plans adopted by them in particular.
Banerjee said that his department was very much concerned regarding the plight of jute industry.
