Fire broke out at a godown of Chittagong Jute Manufacturing Limited in Kalurghat at 10:30 am on December 4, 2006 which destroyed jute worth Tk2 million.
It was brought under control by the four hour efforts of seven fire fighting teams. A fire fighter from Kalurghat Fire Station sustained burns while trying to douse the fire. Reason for start of the blaze couldn't be found.
