Dubai's citizens are preparing to make an environment-friendly approach by minimizing their utilization of plastic, which has adverse effect on the planet.
UAE consumes approximately 1,50,000 tons of plastic every year as per Dubai Municipality statistics. Reusable jute bags are now being considered as a substitute for plastic ones, jute being a natural fibre.
Dubai Municipality has made collective efforts with Dubai Modern High School and International Association for Human Values (IAHV) for distributing 500 jute bags to five Choithrams supermarkets in Dubai.
