UK citizens elect Chanel, Joseph as their favourite labels

London-based apparel label Joseph and French luxury fashion house Chanel have turned out to be the most favoured designer names of the UK.
 
According to a survey conducted among 40,000 British women by the online fashion guide Dressipi, a total of nine percent have voted in favour of these two high-end designer labels.
 
Second and third positions are being graciously taken by DKNY, receiving eight percent of votes, and Alexander McQueen with five percent of the overall ballot.
 
In high street fashion chain category, Zara garnered 33 percent of votes followed by H&M’s 25 percent and Topshop’s 21 percent in the same survey.
 
Established in 1983, menswear and women’s wear specialist Joseph was founded by the late British designer Joseph Ettedgui. The brand is now being operated by the Japanese textile giant Onward Kashiyama Ltd.
 
Directed by Karl Lagerfield, Chanel specializes in haute couture and ready-to-wear garments.
 
Fashion website Dressipi offers style rules, clothes shopping recommendations and fashion advice from top stylists of the world.
