Vietnam's footwear industry in July 2006 nets $340 million, climbing to the third place among top 5 industries contributing to the nation's exports turnover, Ministry of Trade said.
During January–July 2006 period, the industry exported footwear products worth $2.08 billion, representing year–on–year rise of 22.3 percent.
Domestic footwear manufacturers are doing their best to expand their exporting markets other than the traditional and biggest market of EU, which is imposing harsh barriers on Vietnamese products.
