Families having school-age children are expected to spend about 66 percent, of their back-to-school budget on clothing, accessories and shoes this year.

A prime item available in all stores is girls T-shirts with slogan are in great demand while teenage girls prefer wearing longer shirts and choose to wear a belt around them.

Jeans are worn that are slimmer or narrower bottoms and are snug at the ankle although capris and gauchos are used for the early hot days of class.

Teenage girls prefer the mini bags for their cell phones and other personal items and backpacks are similar to an over-the-shoulder book bag large enough for a laptop computer.

About 95 percent of families plan to buy shoes for school and will spend an average US $100.
